Ortho-Bionomy uses gentle, positional releases in a non-invasive, non-forceful way to guide the body in moving away from pain and into more comfort. Together we identify positions that ease pain, then I support the body in the new position until your brain recognizes the improvement and lets go of the painful pattern. By exaggerating the body’s preferred postures we initiate the body’s self-healing process and move towards greater balance, alignment and comfort.
Pain patterns can stem from many sources: injury, stress, allergies or disease, body conformation, or poor posture. Ortho-Bionomy looks at the patterns that exist within the whole person. The practitioner uses gentle movements and positioning of the body to help your brain identify the patterns that are not serving well and facilitate the change of these stress and pain patterns. Ortho-Bionomy works WITH the body, not against it.
As the client becomes more self-aware and understands the basic principles of Ortho-Bionomy they begin to guide the session. The Practitioner becomes the helper and facilitator, making suggestions and supporting the work. The client is now taking a leading role in their own therapy--which leads to even more body-awareness when the session is over.
A strong focus is placed on the comfort of the client in Ortho-Bionomy. The client remains fully clothed. We proceed with the hands-on work in a speed and manner that maintains that comfort. Ortho-Bionomy lets you be an active partner in your journey away from pain. Ortho-Bionomy allows the body to begin to correct itself. By suggesting home exercises and helping the client to identify painful patterns, the neuromuscular re-education process begun in the session can continue long after the session is over.
Ortho-Bionomy is very effective in helping alleviate both acute and chronic pain and stress patterns by reducing chronic muscle tension, soothing the joints, increasing flexibility, improving circulation and relaxing the entire body.
Ortho-Bionomy helps you heal from the inside out.
